South Australia has the most archaic sex work laws in Australia and as a result, sex workers are at three times the risk of experiencing violence, cannot access their workplace rights, and face discrimination. In recent years SA has had a huge spike in the number of raids, charges and arrests made against sex workers by South Australia Police and this puts sex workers at even further risk!
New South Wales, New Zealand, Northern Territory, Victoria and soon Queensland have all decriminalised every aspect of sex work, South Australia needs to catch up!
The Sex Industry Decrim Action Committee (SIDAC) are a group of sex workers, allies, unionist, human rights, community and health organisations, Members of Parliament, women’s’ rights organisations and legal services representatives and as a completely volunteer committee we rely on the generosity of the community to continue the campaign for sex workers rights in SA.
